The importance of fun in our lives

In this month’s newsletter we talk about making time for the three R’s: rest, relaxation and recreation. Relaxing and having fun should to be a permanent part of our lives – they make life worth living, and contribute tremendously to our health and well-being.

In fact, I challenge myself to take it one step further by embracing all that is fun and silly – especially when I am with my children. I honestly can’t think of anything more energizing and uplifting than a heartfelt giggle with my kids. A proper belly laugh!

We’re constantly on the go, we rush from one meeting to the next, juggling multiple projects and roles. This continuous push, push, push spills over into our home lives and our children embrace it is their own “way of life”. We focus on equipping them with various life skills that they’ll need for adulthood – often at the expense of fun.

My thoughts – let them be children a little longer, embrace their silliness. Make sure rest, relaxation and recreation are a key part of both yours and their lives.
